Abstract

Topografías.2. es un políptico de seis piezas, que enlazadas, versan sobre el cielo, las nubes, el rayo, las tormentas y el éter, de la mano del Libro VI de De Rerum Natura de Lucrecio. Este políptico pertenece a una serie más amplia aún en curso sobre Topografías. Suelos, ocupa la primera parte; este segundo grupo sobre los cielos y las nubes abarca elementos que al contrario que en el anterior, se sustraen a la tangibilidad. Sujetos que mutan de estado constantemente, de sólidos a líquidos, aire o vapor. El objetivo de este proyecto sobre topografías es basicamente, la elaboración de una cartografía improbable de sujetos inestables, en metamorfosis y/o en fluctuación.

Author Biography

Nuria Gual Solé, full Senior Lecturer in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona-UB

Graduated in Fine Arts (1983) and PhD “Cum Laude” in Fine  Arts from the University of Barcelona (1995) awarded with PhD Extraordinary Prize 1995-1996. Full-Time Professor since 1995, Contemporary Art Productions, Department of Visual Arts and Design of the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Barcelona (Associate Lecturer from 1987-1994).

Head of Fine Arts International Relations at Barcelona University from 1991 to 2000, also coordinating more than 30 Erasmus and Socrates programs with ENSBA (Paris) Central Saint Martins (London) HdK (Berlin) among others.

Visiting professor in MA Fine Art program, at the University of Southampton, Winchester School of Art. From 1991 to 1993. Since 2010 guest Professor at the Master’s Degree in Lighting Design from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

Member of the Consolidated Research Group BRAC (Barcelona: Art, Research and Creation), Art and Science, Implications and Applications, Agency for Management of University and Research Grants-Generalitat de Catalunya.

Her research is materialized in artistic productions, curated and texts focused on the relationships and boundaries between art-design-architecture. She has done graphics for various public and private entities such as the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona and carried out curatorial projects, among which include Indisciplinados: La posición del Arte en el límite del diseño 2003, produced by MARCO (Museum of Contemporary Art of Vigo). Participation in scientific committees such as the Passion Spanish Design Exhibition 2002, organized by the Spanish state companies for Development and Design and Innovation (DDI) and for the Cultural Action Abroad (SEACEX) in Berlin. Her artwork has been selected for numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as nominations for awards such as the Delta Awards 2016.
