Focus and Scope

Communication and Social Change is an annual review which offers the best researches and reflections about the transforming effects of human communication. In the middle of the technological revolution of the information and knowledge society, this review offers a common framework to all the researches which focus on the social impact of the growing channels of human communication: professionals from Education, Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Policy, Social Work, Telecommunications and Human-Computer Interaction -among other- will be welcome to our publication. It is, then, an openly interdisciplinary review which accepts all those papers that try to answer to the main aim of this publication: to show empirically all those experiences which state the transforming power of human communication and of the media offered in the XXI century.

If it exists a wide variety of scientific reviews that offer different perspectives about the relevance of the media in society, C&SC-Communication and Social Change answers to the interests and motivations of those researches who focus their work trying to disclose situations in which, mainly, the centrality of communication, measured by any channel, is synonym of social transformation.

C&SC-Communication and Social Change is an open-access electronic review with and strict policy of blind review. All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and blinded refereing by two anonymous referees.

C&SC is already indexed: SHERPA /ROMEO and Dulcinea. C&SC tries to be fasted indexed in national and international Social Science databases such as Catálogo de Latindex, ERIH, SCOPUS or Social Science Education.

Licence: Until October 5th 2013, Hipatia Press scientific journals were published under Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial-NoDerivative License (CC BY NC ND). Hipatia Press journals decided to change the license and use the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) as recommended by the Budapest Open Access Initiative taking into account its commitment with Open Access.
