José J. Barba. Editor of Qualitative Research Education left us

TwitterJoseJJosé J. Barba left us. In just three years and from a small town he managed to start a Hipatia journal that less than a month ago entered the Thomson Web of Science. But during this time he also filled us with his kindness, friendship and solidarity. We will always remember every moment that we were lucky to share with him. This scientific journal will always be the publication that our friend José J. Barba created.

Oliver, Esther; Valls, Rosa. (2004). Violencia de Género. Investigaciones sobre quiénes, porqué y cómo superarla. Barcelona: Hipatia Editorial. ISBN: 84-7976-031-1.

The study and prevention of gender violence improve when it is based on scientific knowledge accumulated in different parts of the world. The authors have done a review and analysis of researches ranging from youth violence to that which occurs among older people, including “dating”, married couples and unmarried. Authors focus on cases from universities and institutes. With the same rigor, authors present a number of proposals to prevent violence, including the prospects opened up by new masculinities. This book is a contribution to a new feminism, which affect the social construction and socialization of prevention of violence against women.
